Spark of Life

The spark of life design is one of our earliest releases and one of our most popular as well. The design's inspiration pulls from one of the most recognizable renaissance works from Michelangelo "The Creation of Adam/The Creation of Man". This painting has persisted throughout history as one of the most culuturally impactful and time period defining works of the renaissance. The painting has been reproduced in countless imitations and parodies. Michelangelo's Creation of Adam is one of the most replicated religious paintings of all time. In our design, we aimed to capture the core of the imagery while implementing some of our own philosophy to create something that felt iconic, yet new and influential.
The title of our design "Spark of Life" is meant to capture the essence of the "The Creation of Man". In the painting we can see God reaching out to Adam, granting him the gift of life and sentience.
The subheading of the design "Create Yourself" is where we mix in our own philosophy to create a new feeling and interpretation of the work. To create yourself, in the way the God created mankind, is to give yourself and your life purpose and meaning of your own definition.
The idea of purpose is something that all of us struggle with at one point in life. To combat the idea of a meaningless existence in an expansive and seemingly infinite universe, while also wrestling with our own identity and internal image, and how it all connects together. By nature, our own awareness of our existence and our impermanence pushes us to feel that we need to do something with our time that feels inherently meaningful, and permanent. When faced with material reality, the ultimate realization is that all things are temporary. The physical world is constantly changing and this is entirely out of our control. The next realization though, is that all things that exist are an effect of the things that existed before. What you observe everyday are the consequences of the events of the past. Each and every action, no matter how small or large, has ripple effects that extend throughout the endless halls of time. What you do today in some way will determine the future, always. The problem we run into is that we cannot always see these effects right away. Many things take days, weeks, months, years, even centuries to develop from the actions we take today. Can you say for certain that those who discovered the numerous sources of electricity could have predicted the universal use of it today? Could the inventor of the telegraph imagine his machine as the precursor to the modern cell phone?
So, to "Create Yourself", to give yourself meaning and purpose is to choose to give your actions definiteness of purpose. What you do today will affect tomorrow and all other days in one way or another. There is no way of telling of how even the smallest action can determine the days of the future. A kind gesture to a stranger could save a life, a simple conversation could inspire an artist or inventor, making an otherwise regular delivery on time or early could be what saves a small business from closing its doors, a single rock falling could cause a massive avalanche. What you do matters not just to yourself, but to everyone and everything around you. Even if you believe in a meaningless universe, it's impossible to ignore the effects of all that happens.
Creating yourself allows you define what it is that you do and how you do it and how you want it to affect others and your environment with careful intent. You grant yourself the power to intentionally change and mold your life. It becomes bigger than yourself and extends into everything you touch. You stop being a character in your life, and instead your become the writer. You become self-determined.
Live like you mean it.
